07/26/2025 American Cancer Walk/Run Event Details
Annual "Stomp Out Sarcoma" 5K Run/Walk at Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter held on Sunday, July 27th to run, walk, and raise funds through Stomp Out Sarcoma. The annual event supports research and awareness for sarcoma, a rare and potentially life-threatening cancer. The University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center is among the select institutions actively engaged in sarcoma research, and funds raised on Sunday will be directed to support their ongoing efforts. The Sarcoma Clinic at the University of Michigan evaluates approximately 250 new patients annually, highlighting the critical need for specialized care and continued research. While some sarcoma subtypes respond well to treatment, there is currently no universal cure—especially for advanced or metastatic cases.
05/17/2025 I Ran the D 5K Details
The I Ran the D 5k is an annual 5k celebrating Detroit sports while promoting health and wellness within our community. The event also benefits ChadTough, a local charity that raises money toward curing child brain tumors. Over the past 6 years the I Ran the D 5k has raised over $200,000 for this great charity! The I Ran the D 5k course start at Comerica Park at the Big Tiger and runs through the streets of the Brush Park neighborhood before circumnavigating Ford Field and finishing back a Comerica Park. All participants are then invited to take a victory lap around Comerica Park field! Registration includes a safe, well organized race, hooded custom long sleeve running shirt with all four Detroit pro sports teams, custom bib and finishers medal with bottle opener.

Ongoing The Salvation Army Details
The easiest way to help from early November through Christmas Eve is to ring a bell at one of our iconic red kettles, raising the funds that change lives all year long. Volunteers are the difference between an empty kettle and one that raises about $50 per hour — enough to provide a family with two bags of groceries. Online registration begins in the fall.
